Master of Veterinary Medicine

Distance professional development for international veterinarians

Massey University’s Master of Veterinary Medicine (MVM) programme lets practicing veterinarians worldwide continue their education beyond their primary veterinary degree.

The MVM programme is an extramural (distance education) professional-development programme. We bring the classroom to you through interactive technology and printed study guides.

Get the best of veterinary continuing education

The MVM programme offers structured delivery, flexibility, relevance, qualifications, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will learn the latest in leading global veterinary practice in a supportive, learner-focused environment.

Complete a full qualification or individual papers

You can choose to complete:

  • the full Master’s degree
  • other qualifications, including the Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Clinical Science (PGDipVCS)
  • individual papers (courses) — and receive a Certificate of Proficiency for each.

Read about all the qualifications and papers in the MVM programme.

Choose from a range of subjects relevant to your practice

The MVM programme offers diverse subjects centred on issues you face in everyday practice. New subjects starting soon will make the programme the most comprehensive of its type worldwide.

Decide where, when, and how fast you learn

Study from home or your workplace anywhere in the world. Choose papers that suit your schedule. Complete qualifications at your own pace.

Get guaranteed quality

Massey University was the first southern-hemisphere education provider to be accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

We are New Zealand’s largest university, with a long history of excellence in veterinary and distance learning.
